What does buying a Home and choosing a partner have in common?
When looking at homes, a suggestion is to create a wish list! Sort of like when you are looking for a partner, you have certain ideas of what you are attracted to! That does not mean that you will get everything you want in your home, or your partner, however, the clearer you are in what you are looking for, the easier it is for you to find that “perfect match” and the faster it will be.
As an idea, if you do not want stairs, don’t look at two story homes! If you want a yard, do not look at town homes! I find that if you stay true to what is most important to you, you are happier, and less likely to go through the separation costs of selling the home to move on into what you really should have purchased the first time!
Often people will tell me they want three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a garage! That is so general, that even though you may think it makes it easier, it actually it makes finding the right home harder! That is sort of like saying you will marry someone who has a job and is willing to have kids! Dream more! As you look at homes, learn what you find attractive and inviting! Just like looking for your partner, you will “know” if the house is the right one!
We have many tools to help with this process and we love being the perfect home Match Maker!
Very best,
